Shelley Malan
Owner/Trainer

Shelley has an extensive background in education and teaching and has earned an M.S. degree.  She managed the Education and Development department, which provided orientation, in-service and continuing education, among other services, for 4,000 employees at a major 650 bed medical center in upstate NY before retiring and moving back to Washington with her husband in April, 2002. 

Shelley has been competing in dog agility since 1996 in AKC, ASCA/NADAC and USDAA events, earning over 100 agility titles with her dogs.  She has also earned AKC and ASCA breed championship titles with 2 of her Australian Shepherds and multiple obedience titles with her dogs as well.  She has trained and competed with 6 dogs in agility (5 Aussies and a Dalmatian) at the local, regional and national levels (in USDAA Steeplechase, Grand Prix and Dog Agility Master’s (DAM) tournaments).

Shelley has several years of experience teaching agility at all levels at JAZZ Agility, Schenectady Dog Training Club, and Reigning Cats and Dogs, all in upstate NY.  She became a Certified Agility Instructor in July, 2000.
